MEMBERS’ RAFFLE POSTPONED UNTIL THURSDAY 10th DEC
The raffle is postponed until Thursday evening at the same time (18.00hrs) in the hope that the wind has subsided a bit; it will be outdoors, so please dress accordingly. Everyone who made a reservation for this evening, will have their reservation moved to Thursday; if you are unable to make it on Thursday, please let Wendy know.
Remember, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE PRESENT TO WIN A RAFFLE PRIZE.
BINGO DINNER WILL GO AHEAD THIS EVENING AS PLANNED
HOWEVER, as worded, the new guidance on indoor dining states “no multi-party bookings” which the Covid hotline folks say means that everyone at the table (max 6 per table) has to be from the same household. Hence, if you were planning to join a different household for bingo this evening, the table arrangements may need to be reviewed and it may be that Cassius can accommodate several tables for 1 or 2 people 6’ apart to allow you all to still enjoy the bingo dinner. Please phone the Club to express your individual requirements/preferences.
CHRISTMAS LUNCH WILL GO AHEAD AS PLANNED ON FRIDAY OUTSIDE ON THE TERRACE BUT WITHOUT ANY GUESTS OR SPEAKERS
We will just all sit at our socially distanced tables and enjoy an excuse to have a long lunch on a Friday – hopefully in some sunshine on the terrace. We are waiting for clarification from the Govt on whether the requirement for everyone at each table to be from the same household also applies to outdoor dining (I don’t think it does, but at this stage, who knows what the rules will be by Friday?).
The Commodorable has offered to stand up and give a speech about the stock market instead of the US Consul General telling us about hunting for Russian submarines, but personally, your Commodore thinks the NYSE is a very boring subject and he is to be discouraged at all costs.
